Joseph H. Marshall President		Joseph H. Marshall is President of Southern Plantations Group, Inc. (SPG), Albany, Georgia, USA. His responsibilities and experience include corporate administration, project evaluation and acquisition, investment analysis, appraisals, investor relations, and consulting on agricultural and agribusiness projects. Dr. Marshall's consulting activities have included most areas of the U.S.A., Asia, Europe, and Latin America. He is a farm owner and a general partner in a partnership that leases and operates farmland producing and marketing various agricultural crops. Before co-organizing SPG in 1978, Marshall was employed by Gold Kist, Inc., Atlanta, Georgia for 15 years.

Marshall's prior experience was at Cornell University where he held research and teaching assignments and on family properties where he participated in the management of farming operations.

He is a native of Columbia County, Georgia, where he grew up on a farm. He is a graduate of the College of Agriculture, University of Georgia and received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Cornell University.

Dr. Marshall is a charter member of the International Agribusiness Management Association, the American Society of Agricultural Consultants, and other professional organizations. He has served as President of the American Society of Agricultural Consultants, and the Georgia Chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. He was a member of the Advisor Council of the Cornell University College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, and the Advisory Committee of the Emerging Markets Program of the United States Department of Agriculture.
